Physical Security – 36% believe can be improved by AI but only 7% use it
Carrying on from our earlier blogs regarding the data released in the latest The State of Physical Security Research Report 36% of respondents agree that artificial intelligence (AI) can improve physical security. Only 7% have actually adopted it in their physical security strategy.
42% of business owners were concerned about using AI in their physical security strategies. The top concern was that someone could use it maliciously or for privacy violations (16%) or how the data would be used (16%).
As defined in the report physical security is defined as the act of protecting physical locations and assets from adversaries who seek to commit physical crimes.
The report also showed that there was an increase in physical security incidents with 91% reporting incidents increased or stayed the same from 2023. Damage to assets 25%, project delays 22% and impact to inventory 20% as the top impacts.
Rising crime rates 23% was by far the top concern for responders. The state of the economy came in at 15%.

- automating tasks like access control with facial recognition
- using predictive analytics to anticipate potential security breaches
